OUR STORY

The Bedouin of the Egyptian Sinai Peninsula are recognized as indigenous people by the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues:

"Indigenous people all over the world strive for recognition of their identity, their way of life, their right to traditonal lands, territories and natural resources; however their rights have been violated throughout history. They are arguably among the most disadvantaged and vulnerable groups of people in the world today. The international community now recognizes that special measures are needed to protect the rights of the indigenous peoples of the world."  Source: UNPFII

Our Vision is to strengthen the position of the Sinai Bedouin in the tourism sector by providing work to generate income.

Our Mission is to combat poverty among the Sinai Bedouin by promoting and facilitating responsible travel with minor investments in local initiatives, in order to create more job opportunities and thus a larger share of the income from tourism flows to our local communities.

Our Philosophy is that we can only survive if YOU are satisfied. Therefore it is our choice to be a small business so we are able to offer you the extra service you are looking for.

The world famous diving reefs of the Red Sea and Gulf of Aqaba with their spectacular underwater world surround us. The stunning scenery in the mountains, the overwhelming silence in the desert, 7 protected areas, with its varied wildlife and rare flora, the rich history of this area and its local culture. The rest WE do.

Our Name is the spoken Arabic language of the Bedouin people: Bedawi.

Our Logo represents the peaks from Mount Tur (our home) which merge into the sea (our passion).

The colors red on white represent the traditional headwear of our Bedouin men.

The red globe represents the sun, the moon and our goal:

To improve the quality of life in our local communities.
